Similarly practice managers and managing partners can look at income and expenditure across all departments within the firm and drill down to find out areas of weakness.
  • Easy Reports. In addition to the other report generation methods there is the “Indigo EasyReports” program. This allows users without expertise in Microsoft Excel, Access and Crystal etc to create client and matter based reports easily and quickly.
  • Drill Down. In the ledger card view the user can drill down and see the intricate detail behind each posting, like billed time, billed fees allocations, paid fees allocations, disbursements, payments etc.

This shows graphically how a fee earner is performing against all the key targets, like number of chargeable hours worked, bills raised, bills paid, work in progress etc. Using this, a fee earner will always know if they are under performing in any key area. These performance indicators can be chosen to represent any date span, today, this week, this month, this year, or simply a date range.

  • Key dates, Third Parties, Complaints monitoring.
  • Multi-Currency. There can be any number of firms with any number of currencies to cater for multi-national practices.
  • Excel Data Warehousing. Each sufficiently authorised user can have their own data warehouse stored locally on their PC’s hard drive. The data is extracted from Indigo’s SQL database and stored in Excel format so that users with Excel expertise can create and design as many reports as they need.
  • Data Retention. As SQL Server can handle extremely large databases without any noticeable degradation in performance, data is never deleted from Indigo. So it is there to be accessed whenever required. This means that at any time you can select reports based on a previous period in a previous year without resorting to backed up data.
  • Scalability. Indigo has been written for firms with expansion in mind. A database can grow to sizes well in excess of any requirements with little degradation in performance. SQL Server tools are employed to fine tune the indexes in accordance with the firms usage making for much improved data access on large sites.
  • N-Tier Architecture. Going one step beyond traditional Client/Server design, Indigo encompasses an N-Tier design. The main advantage is that all the main Indigo work is handled by applications running on a remote server, taking the load of the client PCs. The main Indigo applications are true thin client.
  • Modern Network Tools. Indigo utilises some of the most advance code to enable communications between the server and client PCs to take place in the most effective way possible. Combined with other technology this takes the load off of a client’s PC, making the hardware requirements not so demanding.
  • Fail Over and Load Balancing. Our back end server programs can be distributed over several servers throughout a firm’s network. This can provide “Fail Over” support when a server goes down or “Load Balancing” to share work effectively over a network.
  • Back-End Services. The “back-end” applications running on the Indigo server are proper windows services. This means an administrator can control them as any other window feature. Importantly, the Indigo system is automatically started or stopped when a server start or stops.
  • Complete Systems Control. Administrators can easily control the whole of the Indigo system. Starting with automatic user notifications for when the system is ready to use or messages when a system might be down for some reason. An administrator can also control which user has licensed access to which applications.
  • Links to Third Party Products. For example Sage Financial Forecaster which allows user definable criteria for cash and funds flow reporting in addition to balance sheet, profit & loss etc.
